I'm in touch with one of my schools and I e-mailed several professors there. One of them is whom I want to work with specifically and she encouraged me to come down to visit and meet with the faculty, blah, blah. I heard from another PhD student that it's a really good idea to go and get the feel for it, even if they're still making admissions decisions. So I supposed to meet with them this week but I had an unexpected surgery last week and I'm still in recovery. I already e-mailed this professor back that I couldn't make it due to surgery and need this week to recover... wouldn't be able to come down until mid-February. I told her that I'm really excited about it all and still want to come down and what not and gave her some dates. She said that they all work for her just fine and make sure to get in touch with other faculty about their free times.
Then I got in touch with two other professors over the weekend. One said that he would be happy to meet with me and would like to know more, etc. And the other one said that he won't be around on certain dates (which happens to work out for me) and I should note that they'll probably already have made most od their decisions by then and I should come before then or wait to see if I've been admitted.
Should I listen to the 3rd professor's thought? I have one more professor that I want to try e-mailing to meet with.... Should I go back to the other two and ask about it?
(besides, this is one of the schools that takes forever to notify applicants of their status... )
