GRE explanations
My GRE subject scores in English Literature are abysmal. There is an extremely good reason for them being so low- the week of the test there was an emergency at work- which happens to correspond to the topics I want to pursue in a graduate program- that required my full attention. Some applications offer you space to add any other relevant information. Should I say something about the nature of my scores and the context in which I took the test? Or should I just let it stand and hope the committee notices this obviously aberrant mark in an otherwise pretty solid application?
