SOP - stating your future goals
This is a question mostly to people in life sciences. Is it OK to state in your SOP that you want to work in industry after finishing the PhD, or do you lie (in my case) and say you want to stay in academia? My friend says that you ALWAYS state on your SOP that you want to do research in academia and teach, even if you don't mean it. However, that friend is in social sciences, and I am not sure if this applies to life sciences (specifically biology ) also.
