Film Review: Bottle Shock

Dec 06, 2008 13:50

2008's Bottle Shock, based upon the true story of the unexpected California Napa Chardonnay victor in a blind tasting in France in 1976.

Fun (though doesn't use Alan Rickman to his full potential), contrived (how many boxing matches? car breakdowns?), formulaic (guy-girl-guy, oh, and let's have the blonde revolving in the sun on a hill), and interesting follow-up role for the action-hero of the Zombie-apocalypse in Grindhouse.

Much amused by the hellish traffic that must've resulted from all the filming requirements for quiet 70s wine country roads. At some points, it looked like they were filming in Paso Robles, not Napa.
