...Or the James Bond School of Interior Design (and Rapid Redecoration)
---
You can pay $10.25 a ticket or carefully storyboard a collection of architectural magazine pages - and then burn them to exciting music and sounds of physical exertion. ;-)
Don't get me wrong, it's a good Bond film,
loads of popcorn punching fun that barely gives the audience a chance to breathe, matched to some rather nice meditations on the psychology of Bond. At least Pinewood didn't have to
rebuild from fire again.
Favourite bits:
- Homage to Goldfinger, in "black gold" this time.
- The breathless fight scene involving lots of falling through rooftops in Siena (I think), dangling at ropes, and sliding construction girders. Must've been painful to reset for every shoot.
- The convincing jerkiness of the CIA station chief
Also slightly amusing to see how they've adopted topical interests, such as the declining dollar, Greenwashing, and the
Bolivian-Bechtel water-control controversy; also, some return to Bond Product Pimping.

EDIT: Also, was much amused to see the preview to the new The Day the Earth Stood Still. Just remember: Klatu Verata Nikto!
Also - very much looking forward to Coraline!
