It may be proportional to their desperation, but local criminals are definitely getting stupider.
1. Ms. C's Acura was nearly broken-into again while shopping with her mom in San Mateo County. The would-be car thief jammed in their fake key - and broke it in her lock. They were unsuccessful in their theft attempt, and destroyed their own tool. All this in the timespan of 10-15 minutes.
2. This would-be car thief runs from police, leaps over a wall, and falls 200 feet to his death. Unfortunately, this Darwinian weeding is only going to leave the fittest, most dangerous, criminals.
