Interesting that Amnesty characterises this as "Joining the Global Neighborhood Watch." It's an interesting idea, and reminds me of some of those ideas of ubiquitious micro-photography and Internet dispelling the "black sites" of the world. Nevermind that recent US behaviour has proven that marginally incorrect. Then again, I'm reminded of what remains the greatest shortcoming of all such methods - total reliance on its moral persuasiveness on the actors/perpetrators, many of them very very far from any moral model. So yes, let's join the Global Neighborhood Watch, not that it'll mean much more than bearing witness to unenforced crimes - again. I do hope I'm proven wrong.
