So I was tracking this NEJM-sourced report yesterday. Odd, and I would not have thought lavendar oils would have such hormone-mimicry. Clearly these results need to be replicated and studied.
The news was somewhat timely though, since last night I went to an event that delved into the known toxins, and many unknown chemicals in personal care products. A very good report, and their online database is readily available.

Chirac on a EU-wide carbon tax on non-signators of Kyoto (and the follow-up agreement). Interesting, and possibly even useful. Sadly, it does only play into US free-trade proponents' suspicions of environmental regulations in general, and European climate efforts particularly. Moreover, it's easy for Chirac to say these things with France's lead in nuclear power, and all those CAP subsidies.
