the defeat of 2000 years of
Imperial rule. Their own official calendar marks this as Year 95.
I wonder what celebrations they'll have in store for Year 100?

Celebrating days of independence and establishment are all par for the course - but to me, nationalism feels almost nostalgic...if it weren't so devoid of innocence.

Also: I was always amused that for all their differences, both Chinas could agree on
