Yeah. It totally bites.
It's sad, sad, sad...
I remodeled the place before they moved in; paint, refinished hardwood floors, new light fixtures, new tile, all new non-slip surface on the unfinished basement floor. It royally sucks to see it destroyed slowly (mostly by lack of communication).
They seem to have a complete fear of calling me or the management office about repairs and problems. When he does, he doesn't come anywhere close to accurately describing the problem. I think it's pretty awesome when you can call the owner(s) AND the property management company at any time.
I've had this huge perspective of problems with this goofball... a leaking kitchen tap, I was called repeatedly. Matt was called repeatedly. The brothers complained and called. Drama, drama, drama. He mentioned in passing one day that the sprinkler system had been "leaking", I show up to check it out and there's a bloody 4 ft. wide pond with scum and frogs and the whole smelly deal. It'd been leaking a good two or three months. The expansion valve was still open from the winter! He's from Phoenix.... it never occured to him. Keep in mind, I pay the water bill. A few drips = big fucking deal. Hundreds of gallons of water = no problem. Half an inch of sewage is "starting to back up." I would hate to see his idea of a "backed up."
A few of us play "What's his mental illness?"
When Matt mentioned the insurance liability and the clause in the lease about snow removal, he jumped Matt's shit. Three adults in the place and a single car driveway - seriously?
