Recording Notes
Firstly, I'm sorry about the occasional drops in volume--yes, those were where I had to pause as a train barreled by less than fifty meters from my balcony. I did my best to make sure these volume shifts didn't do anything to the listening experience (in other words, they shouldn't hurt your ears, since they get softer instead of louder).

I don't know what to say about the same-ness of all five Seigaku members with speaking roles. It may be painfully obvious that character voices are my Achilles' heel. ^_^;;; Also, please don't ask me what I was smoking when I voiced the wind. *hides* Each wind-voice is a mix of three to five layers of me speaking as breezily as possible in as high as pitch as possible while still being clearly audible. *facepalms* I don't know. You tell me if that sounds like wind.

Technical notes: All mixing done in Audacity. Recorded in quite a number of takes (pausing in between to wait for trains to pass by). Normalized to +/-3dB. I attempted noise removal, but I'm not sure it was very successful. *winces* With background music this is usually not a problem (as you don't notice mic static under electric guitars and the like), but narration is usually done in silence, right? Still working on how to make this better.

Finally: man oh man, recording this fic made me wish desperately I didn't live next to the JR Takasaki line. I can't tell you how much time was wasted waiting for trains to pass, or how many bits I had to re-record because I didn't notice the warning bells. I can see recording anything professionally will be difficult.

Please comment if downloading--it makes the effort put into recording fics worthwhile. ♥
