So They closed my branch today. Its last day is tomorrow. They walked in a 9am and were out by noon. I'm being transferred back to Kingston. My coworker was handed a severance package and shuffled out the door.
Bing, bam, boom.
Just that easy. I know I should feel lucky that they kept me on but I really would have preferred that severance and unemployment.
I could have turned the transfer down but there would be no severance and I was informed that they would consider that quitting so no unemployment.
Fuckers.
So I spent my day today packing my car to the brim with office supplies to bring to the Kingston office. I also made off with a coffee maker and the popcorn machine I just bought for the office.
Tomorrow I get to stare at a wall all day since they diverted all the incoming apps to Kingston already. Gotta remember my book ....
Edit: Oh, I should mention that my branch wasn't the only one. 130 in all, nationwide. Out of 8 branches in my district there are now 3. Albany, Kingston and Nanuet.
