Today was a very interesting day :D
I came across the weirdest man on earth (let's just say, revenge is sweet), I went to Philippe's for the first time in a while, and I also went to Pinkberry for the first time in weeks (I think I finally overcame that addiction....)
And then my mom had a business meeting with this person about franchising a frogurt business, because I found one of the most amazing retail/restaurant space opportunities on earth, and I thought Pinkberry would be an awesome as hell idea because of the particular location (it's all about the location, bah). Except apparently they're not franchising anymore, or there was some stupid reason to not going with Pinkberry...so...here's the pigging out on free frozen yogurt..between three people, of course (each cup is the same as pinkberry's medium, and IT WASN'T HOLLOW IN THE MIDDLE (!!!) ):
cé fiore "italian frozen yogurt" it is.
created by the same guy(s?) behind Todai (that japanese buffet place), it is a freaking direct rip of Pinkberry if I've ever seen one. Kiwiberri, Snowberry, Berri Good...those don't even come close to the way I think cé fiore rips Pinkberry, from the advertisements and interior decoration to the menu and even the original and green tea flavors. And having had both within like one hour of each other...
Of course, there's some stupid moron who couldn't decide on a name, so while the store is called "cé fiore", all the employees have aprons with "i fiore" printed on them, and the lady's business card says "i f italian frozen delight" on it..and there's a redirect from ifyogurt.com to the above cefiore.com link.
Personally, I find absolutely NO taste difference between the Original, Blueberry/whatever and Pomegranate flavors except for this very slight hint of one that goes away pretty fast. So, well..if I ever go there...Original is cheaper than the other flavors and tastes just the same...
Of course, this is all one fucked up idea...cause there's Orange Cream, and the aforementioned Kiwiberri, Snowberry, Berri Good, Pinkberry, Roseberry, the cé fiore we were considering earlier today, and the granddaddy of them all, Red Mango. All in Los Angeles. There's probably even more showing up daily, or brewing in the minds of others. Oh yeah, there's also TCBY, Golden Spoon, and all those other retarded frogurt places, but they don't quite count cause that yogurt's slightly different. BUT IT'S ALL ABOUT THE FUCKING LOCATION FOLKS :D
Pinkberry has the best website, by far, though. Props to them. Having lame sites like Kiwiberri and Berri Good is..lame!
Now, the first person to open up a Pinkberry outside of California, or perhaps in another major city either in California or hell, even not.. (*cough* san francisco, seattle...)..ooh boy.
