Hmm, I realized I have zero patience to do SoC for the ideas I had that would have been somewhat acceptable. I guess it doesn't help a lot of it was that really tedious and boring stuff. If I could find some interesting thing to work on I might.. I might change my mind in the next week (extended deadline..although I thought it was an april fools joke).
So, WWDC scholarship info got posted. I'm applying as soon as Apple decides to change my membership to non-pending cause they want to make sure I'm actually a student or something. I'm considering releasing my retarded nuvaring timer app (soooo sooooooo utterly pre-alpha) just to show I haven't just been doing everything-but-mac-development since the last WWDC*, but I don't want to provide a public download link. However, some projects I'm putting on my resume are private/internal things I'm only providing for the benefit of whoever reads the applications (with the appropriate permissions from appropriate people) so maybe I'll toss a private download link in there or something?
I just don't want some random person to download and then complain about said unfinished app. hah.
*One reason why I'm stalling is because I'm not sure what kind of disclaimer I should attach to it (why are there so many legal issues...). It is so customizable and has so much evidence of feature creep (compared to the "official" Organon piece of shit timer) that there is clearly potential for non-approved usage (aka anything but the 28 day cycle of 3 weeks in/1 out) of NuvaRing. But that's what makes it so good! Should I talk to my mom's lawyer/lawyer friends about it or something? Hrmmmm...and speaking of THAT legal issue, there's the whole problem with the name! I have no idea what to name it. I can't use a lot of variations that would normally be awesome for obvious reasons, and I don't really want to get in touch with the appropriate people at Organon about it because it's obvious from the non-standard options that it would not be a great idea even though it's currently miles better than the official timer. Maybe if I did a 28 day only one? I don't know.
Also, I had some good april fools jokes up my sleeve..here's one. it was for the people I share my seedbox with (aka a nice dedicated server with 100mbit connections just for torrenting). If you remember the elitetorrents takedown by the FBI, you'll understand why ;)
