long nails are annoying.

Okay, so for years I've had this nasty habit of biting my nails.

Well, it's been one month since I stopped doing so without using anything (yay!), which is a surprise because before this the only reason I wouldn't ever do so is because I painted my fingernails and nail polish tasted yucky. But this time I didn't use anything! It's amazing.

But, now I have to trim my fingernails around two times a week at the minimum. And each time I do so, I do it to the point where there's no more white part on the nail. It's fairly obnoxious. If I don't trim it as often, then the nails make MORE annoying clicking sounds on the piano (they already do anyway no matter how much I trim, which is seriously annoying) and it gets a bit annoying to type on angled keyboards (both positive and negative slope) because the nail gets "caught" on the keys. But every time I trim them it takes me like 10 minutes to do so because I trim them so closely and because it's sort of hard to keep a steady hand while doing so (thanks, retarded hands with retarded tremors).

Should I decide not to trim my fingernails, I end up scratching myself and fucking up typing as a result, nevermind the seriously irritating clicking and nail-bending (ew!) and fingers splayed out in bad ways on the piano making it impossible to play things like trills accurately without going crazy. I grew my fingernails out on my trip to mwsf - I trimmed my nails like that Sunday night, and I just trimmed my nails a few minutes ago because I have a piano lesson tomorrow. 2mm in a week!

So now I'm wondering what kind of people have so little to do that they can afford to grow out fingernails or have fake fingernails that are so long that it becomes seriously inconvenient to do everyday things. Sure, a little bit comes in a bit handy occasionally, but I'm talking about those obnoxiously long fingernails with accompanying manicures. I can't even paint my nails at home because in a matter of a week or so it looks like I only bothered to paint half my nails. So that takes even more time and it's so annoying. I paint my toenails and even stick on jewels and paint nail art on them, but that's because they don't grow that fast. But what the hell do some of these women do that they can spend that kind of time on those kinds of things without having a problem? Or do they just deal with their obnoxiously long fingernails interfering with so many things?!

Sheesh.
