It's been ages since I've posted in this journal, and so much has happened over the past few months.
In July my softball season ended on a sour note, and with it, my career as a pitcher. I went through a rather difficult mental period where I was beating myself up over not taking that scholarship. I spent this entire month working 40+ hours a week at Blockbuster, and by the end of the summer I couldn't stand my job. It simply got to a point where I was tired of pretending to be nice to people.
In August I turned nineteen, gambled at the casino, became accquainted with the downtown scene in Windsor, quit my job, and moved to Toronto for school. I also got to see Wolf Parade in Detroit, which was one the highlights of my summer. Suprisingly, I was not at all bothered by the fact that I was moving four hours away from my family and friends, nor was I overly excited.
In September, I started university. Now I need to remember that I am here for classes, and not merely to party all the time. Since I've been here, I've consumed far too much alcohol, learned and forgotten far too many names, and been introduced to music that I did not know existed. I'm trying to learn how to manage my time effectively, but I have a feeling that there's going to be a long road ahead of me.
I've met a lot of awesome people since I've been here, and if the rest of the school year is even half as great as the past few weeks, it's going to be one hell of an awesome time!
