Seventeen Years Later, Here We Are

Wild to see that people are still reading "Atrophy in the Library." So many fics written, and the story that's had the longest staying power is a Dramione story that wouldn't even exist if all my friends hadn't been doing it at the same time.

(For what it's worth, I still think "The Absence" was some of the best writing I produced during that time.)

Last night I decided to google my old pen name and see what was out there. What I found made me nostalgic for the heyday of Harry Potter fandom-the first wave? the second wave? because it's definitely still going strong-and what an inspiring, creative, and imaginative time it was. I wrote so much, nonstop, every day, buoyed by the encouragement of so many other creative and talented people.

It was a defining experience of my teenage years.

I've been writing ever since.
