Hi Cate! I love this Cocktail Party thing. I've seen you around, but I was never sure of what to say *sheepish*
Uuummm. Miss Piggy and Kermit. :P
Ooh. That is GOOD.
I'm afraid the only Broadway musical I've seen is Lion King when it came to San Francisco last summer. But I'm going to NYU in 2006 (spending the first year in Florence), so hopefully I'll get to catch up on musicals then :D
4. An LJ user not on my friends list: ME! :P
Shameless! I LOVE IT. I totally mean that. It warms my heart.
Yikes, me too. Which is why I snagged at this opportunity to just run amok all over LJ :)
Wicked! What is that about? I always THOUGHT it was like a remake of the Wizard of Oz or something, but then somewhere, I got the impression that it was really a lovestory...anyhow, everything I've heard is super positive and enthusiastic about it :)
Yay! Me too! I used to go actively looking to make new friends, what with browsing communities like mad, but then exams came and I fell off LJ for a while. But exams are now done and I have literally nothing to do. Except watch Alias. That is something.
Okay... Wicked is the story of the Wicked Witch (Elphaba) and Glinda the Good while they are in college together and how they become what we know them as. :) There is a love story involved but the musical is more of a story of sisterhood and friendship than romantic love.
Oh, wow, that sounds much more interesting than the whole scenerio I was imagining :D
I remember there was this group, kind of music, that used everyday items to create music and dance. I think they were called Stomp? Aren't they New York-based? I *think* I read somewhere that they performed in NY before. Can't be sure, but I remember being absolutely fascinated by them just banging on things and bouncing basketballs.
Ahh, thanks for clearing that up! Two people have recced the book already, and it was a mystery.
Blue Man Group. I'll remember the name ;)
I just had lunch, so I'm all full and feeling fine. And listening to country again. And Mr. & Mrs. Smith comes out June 8th! And Chronicles of Narnia, at the end of this year, I believe!
SAME! It's done by the same folks who did the designing and all that - costumes, set - for LotR, so it's looking to be pretty good :)
Are you into reading fantasy/sci-fi books? I usually stay away from both - I hardly EVER touch sci-fi, unless there's nothing else to read - but _bubbleforest recced me The Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb awhile back, and I'm hoping against everything that someone will turn that into a movie trilogy as well.
Okay, Farseer Trilogy is inclusive of Assassin's Apprentice (book 1), Royal Assassin (book 2), and Assassin's Quest (book 3).
The main character is Fitz, the bastard son of prince Chivlary, who abdicated the throne after word of his son surfaced. Fitz is trained as an assassin, and well, I'll just type up this passage:

Re: Kermit and Piggy -- I'm watching the Muppet's Wizard of Oz. It was the first thing that popped into my head. :)
Definitely see Wicked. And Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. And Avenue Q. I have a few more (Spamalot!) but I won't force those on you. :P
Haha! I'm always looking for new friends. :P

Wicked the book is different than Wicked the musical but both are equally good. :)

I know! Jadis/WW looks soooo freaky.
I actually love fantasy/sci fi... it's one of the only genres I do read but I've never even heard of Farseer. What is it about?
