Today, I went to Insadong with my mom. We visited various galleries - Insadong is the artsy bobo neighborhood and galleries alternate with cute little coffee shops and souvenir boutiques. Montmartre, really.
I took a few pretty pictures, too, though some of them were over-exposed and I had to tweak them a bit afterwards. My iPhone isn't really adapted to photography... I'm considering saving to buy a brand new camera since my little Kyocera is nice, but quite old, with a crappy battery. This needs further thinking.
We lost our way between Jongno-sam-ga, the station that was indicated in our book, and the actual Insa-dong-ro which turned out to be just a few streets away. Traveler's advice: if you want to go to Insadong, exit @ Anguk #1. Meanwhile we got a quick view of the Korean street life. As in, street life. Really.
Mom took a poster in one of the galleries we visited - gorgeous photography. I told her it was stealing. She argued no-one could see, and if they told her to pay, she'd just put it back.
No-one came.
Yes, that woman is terrible.
We saw some really interesting painting and sculpting, too. I tried to gather booklets from everywhere and maybe I'll compile a post about it later.
Insadong was surprisingly almost empty, and it gave a peculiar, out-of-time impression.
