Talia’s biggest flaw is her extreme pessimism. This has come from more from personal experience with people than an inherent personality trait. She has learned to just expect the worst in most situations (that way when the worst doesn’t happen it’s a happy surprise).
Branching from said pessimism, she is very anti-social. She avoids crowds as much as she can. In conversations she is extremely polite, partially to try to overcome discomfort by the other party, and also as an attempt to keep people distant from her. She generally expects all relationships (casual only, romantic relationships have been non-existent for her) to go downhill eventually, it’s only a matter of time.
She is not very trusting. She will speak as though she feels otherwise, but she doesn’t really trust anyone but herself.
She is generally not up on current events or trends. This has a lot to do with her utter lack of a social life and her avoidance of the general populace. Besides that, the general business of working and trying to go to school sucks away any time she might use for fun stuff anyway.
Coming back to her lack of training involving her abilities, she is particularly susceptible to “psychic shock”, and illness prevalent among the Telepath Clan of the Calans. Basically this happens when too much psychic energy is used and the body tries to make up for it. The symptoms are extreme fatigue, paleness coupled with dark circles around the eyes and feverishness. Severity depends on how much energy was actually used. Mild cases act like a bad cold, but serious cases can lead to extended sickness, coma and death without the intervention of a Healer. Treatment in general is bed rest, drinking plenty of liquids and consuming a high-calorie diet until recovery. With proper training Telepaths build up a resistance to psychic shock. With Talia’s current experience any use of power-primarily telekinesis-will cause her to feel ill for at least a few hours. Extended use (which would only happen if a plot developed that actually required her to defend herself) of fifteen minutes or more would cause a more severe case that could last several days and possibly require medical treatment. Although Talia can be affected by psychic shock she doesn't actually know what it is, she's just aware that she feels ill after she uses either telepathy or telekinesis (the precognitive dreams do not cause psychic shock).
