Character: Kurosaki Masaki ( Link to previous app)
Abilities: Unlike her husband and eventually two of her children, Masaki has no spiritual or superhuman powers at all. As far as special abilities go, a quick wit and being in good physical shape are all she has, though long-term exposure to Isshin have resulted in a weak ability to see spirits...not that this means much in the City.
Flaws/weaknesses: Though she's not an extremely hot-tempered person, once Masaki does get angry, she gets ANGRY and is not likely to listen to reason even when it's in her best interest. Just attempting to use logic on her will make it worse. She is also a little bit vengeful, and retribution can range from a simple prank to needing one's kneecap put back into place. Like her son, she wants to protect people, and can get overly worrisome at times. Like any good parent, her main weakness is her children, and since she's gone years without being able to raise them, she is likely to try overcompensating from time to time. Physically, she is also no stronger or more powerful than you would expect a woman of her statue to be. She is also kind of freaked out by mimes.
History/background: Masaki was raised as an only child by lower-middle class parents in Tokyo. This left her with the desire to have a bigger family in a smaller city. When her parents died in a car accident her first year at University, it left her with a lot of grief but enough money to finish her education with a degree in child psychology. It also left her with a few goals she was determined to fulfill in her life: she wanted a lot of laughter, she never wanted to stop learning, and she wanted to push her boundaries so that she never missed out on something because she was afraid to try it.
She was never a huge partier in her younger days, but there are a few notable exceptions that would humiliate her children if they knew. Hey, she wasn't always a sweet and proper mommy. She made friends with most people easily, but it took time and trust to get especially close to her so that she would open up.
For hobbies, Masaki likes to cook and is generally pretty good at it, though once in a while she will challenge herself with something difficult and a truly bizarre dinner will result. She likes to keep in shape through solo exercises such as jogging. For some reason she really loves ping-pong tournaments on TV when they're available, and death to whoever interrupts her.
Soon after college, she met Kurosaki Isshin and thought he was loony but kind of cute, so after a suitable amount of groveling she went out with him. As they got closer, she found out that while he as loony on his own, one reason for it was that he was a shinigami captain from Soul Society and technically dead. He was a giant goober, but had a kind heart and made her laugh, so Masaki married him, though she would rarely admit that she thought he was a cool-looking guy. She decided to stay home to raise the kids; her degree was still useful that way, and she helped out in Isshin's clinic sometimes when he had younger patients.
After an acrobatic honeymoon period, they produced a son and then twin daughters. Masaki stayed at home to take care of the children, but didn't consider herself limited in any way; she loved making a happy home for her family. Tragedy struck when, in trying to protect Ichigo from a Hollow, she was instead killed herself.

She has a supportive, protective nature and will not hesitate to put herself in harm's way if it will benefit those she cares about. Though she doesn't condemn fighting when it is necessary, she has a fairly pacifistic outlook. She strives to keep an open mind, but as they say, not so open that her brain falls out; open doesn't mean wishy washy, and though she'll take the time to try and get all the facts, once she makes up her mind, her opinions are very strong ones.
In the City, she'll have less trouble dealing with the fact that she was dead than she will with the fact that her family has gone on for six years without her. She doesn't regret shielding Ichigo from the hollow that day, but she does feel tremendous guilt that her loss shattered the family and changed her son so much. She would love to see him smile like he used to. She will also wrestle with feelings of insecurity over whether she's just disrupting their lives and emotions by turning up, even if she wasn't the one who brought herself here. Though she will have no trouble getting stern when her kids get out of line.
Background setting: [the setting your character came from before PC] Modern Karakura town, immediately after her death. The last thing Masaki remembers is dashing through the rain to stop her son from hurting himself as he ran toward the hollow lure, and then the pain when the hollow attacked her instead.
Physical description: [pictures are strongly encouraged & welcome] A page from the manga
Slightly taller-than-average height, in good shape but not super athletic. She likes to exercise, but three young children limited the opportunity for that, though three young children provide their own sort of exercise. Her long, wavy hair has shades of Ichigo's in it, though it is a softer orange, somewhere between that color and blonde. In general, she can be found with a smile on her face. She's got a few stretch marks from pregnancy, but is only mildly self-conscious of them, since Isshin's exuberance for her radiant beauty always made her feel better.
Sample RP:
The rain was gone.
This was the first thought to strike Masaki as she blinked her eyes open to see a bone-dry sidewalk before her. The last she could remember, the weather had been awful, though she'd gone out anyway to deliver Ichigo to karate practice and pick him up. The sacrifices of motherhood. She'd planned on making them some cocoa to warm them up, but then he'd run, and there had been pain and blood-
She was fine now, though. Another strange thing. In fact, there was very little about the situation that wasn't strange.
But first things first: she had to find her child. "Ichigo?" she called out. "Can you hear me?"
Sample post:There's something very strange about this city. It's not home, it's not raining, and I don't see my son anywhere around here. He went running after ghosts again, I'm sure. He's just a little boy and gets so excited, but I really think he'll have to have a time-out after this.
If anyone sees a nine-year-old boy with orange hair wandering around, please let me know immediately. I'm his mother, and I'm so worried.
