Drabbles 1-5 Drabbles 6-10 Drabbles 11-20 Ugh, sorry for the day-wait. :(
21. Mike Richards/Jeff Carter | Christmas gone wrong | for
nodl Mike’s not sure what happened with whatever they ate at the restaurant last night, but he and Jeff wake up on Christmas morning violently sick. They fight for the bathroom, after a few hours make it to the emergency room, and are both diagnosed with food poisoning, and by the time they get home, it’s nearly dark out, and they’re both exhausted, still feeling gross, and slightly irritable.
“Well,” Jeff mutters, flopping down onto the couch when they get inside. “So much for spending all day in bed the way I planned.”
Mike flops next to him. “How ‘bout tomorrow?”
22. Sidney Crosby/Evgeni Malkin | decorating the Christmas tree | for
meerkat007 Sidney can’t help but look at the tree and burst out laughing. The tree has two sides; one is his, the other is Geno’s, and the invisible line dividing the two could not be more obvious.
Sidney’s is meticulously done, careful, precise, ornaments spaced evenly around the lights and tinsel, bows fastened perfectly in place. Geno’s side is blindingly colourful, practically hanging lower with all the ornaments he’s used in favour of the bows (his sentimental side is showing), and Sidney can’t even be upset that the tree looks ridiculous.
He’s too busy grinning affectionately at Geno’s bright, excited face.
23. Steve/Danny | Grace has hidden mistletoe everywhere | for
blualbino The first one amused Danny. The second made him wonder. The third, outright suspicious.
By the seventh piece of mistletoe of the day, his lips won’t stop tingling from the pressure of Steve’s mouth on his, always careful, always tentative, despite their comfort level growing with it, Gracie’s sneaky plan (Danny’s not stupid, you know) to get them to kiss each other all day long (to Chin and Kono’s endless amusement as well).
On piece number eight, Danny thinks, fuck it, and slips Steve some tongue. On piece number nine, Steve reciprocates.
Piece ten involves a dark supply closet.
( ;) )
24. Danny Briere/Claude Giroux | knitting | for
cill_dara Danny looks up, surprised. “It’s a scarf.”
Claude blushes, shrugs. “You only have one, and you never wear it. And you’re always cold, I can tell,” he rushes on, “And so I asked my mom, and. Well. Are the colors okay?”
It’s beautiful. Thick and soft and god, Danny can’t even imagine how long it must have taken to do this. It looks so intricate, all the colors woven in, orange and blue and grey and black, and he says, “It’s gorgeous. Claude, this is amazing,” because it’s totally true.
Claude gives him a bright smile, and Danny grins back.
25. James Neal/Jordan Staal | Neal alone on Christmas, someone makes it better | for
autumn_belias Christmas with the Staals. It sounds like an Christmas comedy, or a tv special. At any rate, he’s laughing, because Jordan’s family is completely crazy, and Jordan’s grinning at him from the other side of the living room (too far away) while they play some form of charades.
He didn’t expect to feel comfortable here. To feel warm and welcome and at home, like he hasn’t anywhere in over a year.
Comfortable, but the next emotion is unsettling, a tightening in his stomach as Jordan playfully winks at him, eyes lit with laughter, and James smiles.
Just go with it.
Next set of drabbles will be posted on December 26th! Merry Christmas, you guys! I really appreciate all your feedback. :)
