Meet Joe Black / Heist

While I can probably never write down a movie review like notanangel78 would, I think I can say things like: this movie sucks, it is good, it is not bad etc. So even though I watch a lot of movies, it is only once in a while that I talk about them and quote from them (and no, that isn't an alternative for a review).

So this movie is called Meet Joe Black and here are a few nice dialogue sequences:

William Parrish (Anthony Hopkins): Do you know about money?
Joe Black (Brad Pitt): It can't buy happiness?

[Watching the fireworks above the party before they depart]
William Parrish: It's hard to let go, isn't it?
Joe Black: Yes it is, Bill.
William Parrish: What can I tell you. That's life.

Jamaican Woman: It nice it happen to you. Like you come to the island and had a holiday. Sun didn't burn you red-red, just brown. You sleep and no mosquito eat you. But the truth is, it bound to happen if you stay long enough. So take that nice picture you got in your head home with you, but don't be fooled. We lonely here mostly too. If we lucky, maybe, we got some nice pictures to take with us.

Another movie that I saw recently and had fabulous dialogue sequences was Heist

Bergman (Danny DeVito): Everybody needs money. That's why they call it money.

Coffee Cart Man: Hey buddy. You forgot your change.
Joe Moore (Gene Hackman): [Takes the change] Makes the world go round.
Bobby Blane (Delroy Lindo): What's that?
Joe Moore: Gold.
Bobby Blane: Some people say love.
Joe Moore: Well, they're right, too. It is love. Love of gold.

D.A. Freccia (Jim Frangione): You're a pretty smart fella.
Joe Moore: Ah, not that smart.
D.A. Freccia: [If] you're not that smart, how'd you figure it out?
Joe Moore: I tried to imagine a fella smarter than myself. Then I tried to think, "what would he do?"

Some of these are very situational. I recommend that you watch these movies :-)
