Life update
1. jbhargav was in town last week during his term-break (He is enjoying the business administration program a lot). Among catching up with other friends and other things that happened, was a trip to MTR for lunch. He promised that he will update his journal more often :-)
2. The introductory session of the Journalism and Media Studies course happened this saturday. Turns out that everybody that registered for the course is looking for a career in journalism, and I happen to be the only ass there who is in to understand journalism and media a little. The course work looks very exciting and you'll find me talking more about it here.
3. On the sunday that just flew past, I learned how Rum cocktails are mixed. I realised that the key ingredient in all cocktails is (of all things on earth) ice. Yes, ice cubes, mostly crushed! And the hotel management graduate sitting next to me told me that good quality ice costs 10 Rs/- a KG (WTF!).
4. Having come across Manga more than once, I picked up a couple of graphic novels from the bookstore. The illustrations were great and I got used to reading them from right to left after a few pages. The Manga that I found were for an age group 16+ and I'd love to read some more about Japanese life (something on the lines of Sarnath Banerjee's Corridor - which in my opinion is a brilliant piece of creativity).
5. C V got engaged, this means that I'll be going to Bhopal this December to attend the wedding. We were supposed to celebrate this sunday but rains lashed Bangalore and we turned back midway. Had to drive in deep water in first gear with one foot always on the accelerator, and the car carpets were a mess by the time we got back.
Somewhere in between all these, I saw Heist (Great dialogue sequences. Lots of Plan A, Plan B and Plan C), The Interpreter (Interesting, kept my attention) and The Accidental Spy (The usual Jackie Chan fare, only a little boring than his usual stuff). Otherwise been busy and productive at work and even though I would've liked to be in Hyderabad today for Ganesh Chaturthi, it did not work-out in my favour, but life is good, as like2e would say.
