Weekend discoveries.

The sunday that just slipped past was more eventful that it usually is. I discovered a few things.
  • H got engaged a few weeks ago, so he treated us at Sheesh Mahal. I went to Sheesh Mahal (on Lavelle Road) a couple of months ago and the food there is good. The dishes (both vegetarian or otherwise) are nicely made, though the desserts could have been better. We wanted to order the chocolate cake, but that was for a party that was on there. I've seen that quite a few people from northern India complain that the food in Bangalore is a little too spicy. If you don't like spicy or hot food, you will like Sheesh Mahal.
  • G K Vale has this concept of use and throw cameras. Apparently it costs you something like 450 Rs/- plus taxes or so. I was looking for something like that when we went to Darjeeling and we did not have a camera. I saw this young lady at G K Vale who was writing with her left hand and the top of the pen pointing away and the tip on the paper pointing towards her. I thought that would involve some skill, I did not see anybody write like that.
  • If you were cursing G K Vale that they scan pictures at poor quality in their develop+print+scan scheme, you can ask them for the pictures to be scanned at a higher DPI, they do it (Well, atleast, the chap said he would do it and took it down on the cover but I am yet to get the pictures).

Update: The pictures suck. The scanning sucks even more (white spots and scratches all over the place). The negatives have scratches on them too. I need an alternative to G K Vale for developing, printing and scanning my pictures. The Koramangala branch was better, I wonder if they maintain the same quality that they used to.
