3 Good Reasons to Not Be There
Despite wanting to be elsewhere than where I am at right now, specifically wanting to be with those sending off a good friend, it's apparent to me now that there is no way I am going to be able to make it.
Reason 1: There are huge chunks of freeway and highway between me and said destination that are closed right now. What would likely normally be a 1.5 hour trip home then a .5 hour trip to the Hill will likely be 2-3 times that at least. (Admittedly surmountable.)
Reason 2: Where I am at right now is freezing cold, frosted over, and it is snowing. (Also surmountable).
Reason 3: I am working the one paying gig I have got going for me right now, and I need to get the work completed tonight before I leave so I can get paid. Said pay will be going home with me tonight to put literally put food in front of my family come tomorrow morning, so it is rather important. (Not so surmountable).
The Fates say "No." I must listen, lest I tempt their wrath.
