-Got off the plane at 11:15; it was 75 degrees. Of course, compared to WA, it felt like 90. (Thanks humidity!) Not only this, but it had been hailing and thunderstorming just before the plane landed.
-First thing I noticed while driving around: water towers. It's so damn flat out here that they have to build them tall and annoyingly noticeable. Yay for hills and trees back home.
-I'm staying at a hotel who's address is not on a street, but on an Interstate.
-The road system is messed up (see above). When you "exit" the freeway, you just move onto a road parallel to the freeway, with a speed limit of freeway speeds. Except this road has stoplights and side streets, is still considered the "freeway", and you have to drive a few blocks before you can reach a street that allows you to cross to the other side.
Work is going fine, though we'll see how crossing the border works out tomorrow. Oh yeah, CINCO DE MAYO! woo!
