Discussing the menstrual cycle in biology,
"So okay, when someone has a long cycle, does the whole process just take longer or is there one thing slowing it down?"
"Well, 28 days is just an average."
"Right, but there probably aren't people with a cycle of 6 days, so how can there be people with a cycle of 50 days?"
"FIFTY"
"Yeah"
"You aren't counting right."
So I came straight home and googled it, and apparently over 45 is worthy of medical attention. But I also reviewed the past 15 months and it turns out I average 44 days... so that's okay right? But in those 15 months I had three 50-ishes, topping at 52, and essentially I'm 4 periods short.
Anyway, here's the cool thing! I noticed a pattern in the numbers: the longest cycles alternate with the slightly less long ones, which means one side is working better than the other! So maybe my imaginary future children aren't dying, just half of them.
Uh, yeah, I need to go to the doctor.
