I wanted to try doing a human sculpture, so I referenced off this lovely
fanart of post time-skip Hinata. This doesn't really look that...because I suck? I did all these weird things (ugh at the huge arms) to shift the center of gravity and keep the sculpture from tripping over. Even now, it's not all that stable; it's too heavy in the back. -_-
When I checked the official art, I found out that Hina-chan's costume was rather off. I'll blame that on running out clay near the end. Also, I thought the fanartist had given her different sandals, but it turns out her picture was right and I fail, fuuu.
Wow, Hina-chan has been in the last two posts. Like most everyone else, I am still waiting for Team 8 to come back in the Naruto manga (they are like five weeks overdue for their arc). Hinata needs to show off how cool she's become! If she gets shafted like poor Ino, I'll cry. ;_;
I'd like to try a standing figure later, but I'll need to figure out how to make a decent base first. I also have a half-finished tiger from like two months ago that I need to do something with, fuuu~~
What Bluey is thinking about instead of homework:
1. I wonder if the ceramics teacher has acrylic paints. Glazing takes way too long, plus it's unpredictable. Acrylic paints yayeah!
2. I wonder if I can get air-dry clay/something you don't have to fire in a kiln. Then I could stick wires and stuff inside and wouldn't have to worry about explosions, meltdowns, etc. Plus I wouldn't have to wait two weeks to get stuff fired. woot!
3. l33t plushie making skills! I want l33t plushie making skills! I must learn how to make cute plushies for myself! Fuuu, I want to be like one of those old ladies who does sewing crafts all the time.
