SCHADENFREUDE

I love my Constitutional Law professor. Granted, he can be a bit boring to listen to, but he's really a wonderful guy. He's very smart, respected in his field, honest, and even has his funny moments. He's kind of like a big teddy bear--a father figure type guy. Anyway, he's a Libertarian; so while he is on the far right and I'm on the far left, we often agree on political issues by meeting in the middle.

Yesterday, when we walked into class the following word was on the blackboard:
"schadenfreude."

The professor then asked, "Does anyone know what this word means?" He continued to describe that the word means (as I knew, and as I'm sure many of you know) "pleasure at the misfortune of others." Not surprisingly, it's a German word--which the professor also acknowledged. Then, he went into his discussion of Spitzer and the prostitution ring debacle.

Let's just say, I <3 this guy--the professor, I mean. He's GREAT, even when I disagree with him. XD
FYI, this is the prof's profile: http://www.brooklaw.edu/faculty/profile/?page=57
