The Age Polonskaya says that because her country has a long history of war, with ''a permanent invisible war with Caucasus'', she has written many texts about the military and she loves the sea as subject matter, so it was wonderful to be able to work with Chisholm to select parts that fitted precisely with the music. One of the fragments is from a poem she wrote on September 11, 2001, called Song of the Fallen Heroes, written before the US attacks happened. ''I can't explain … but I just sat down at the desk and wrote line by line all the text,'' she says. ''Of course, I couldn't predict further terror - it was morning in Moscow and the night [before] in New York City. This poem will be a universal poem for the future. Also, the same with other poems, I try to find something about a death, life, love, tenderness, expectations and relations in general and make an independent story talking about the human tragedy.''
