This last weekend I drove my wife, kids and brothers to Utah to hang out with our younger sisters and be there when one of their babies was blessed. The drive was nice, sunny skies and dry roads. Tovah and Grayson did awesome. I was worried but they were little troopers and didn't whine or complain. It was nice seeing family and friends that I hadn't seen in a while.
While we were in Utah we met with some family friends that I hadn't seen in about a decade. I grew up with their kids and my parents are very close with them. My parents had 8 kids and they have 9. I realized how silly it is for me to stress about the little things with travel. My parents and them traveled with 8-9 kids and seemed to handle it with a lot more grace than I did with 2.
I have been giving a lot of thought into how to be a better father and husband. One of the things I am working on is stressing out less and yelling less. Life is too short to sweat the small stuff.
