In the name of Harman...

Okay, so I wanted to hate it.

I really, really did.

But I love Killer7.

Killer7 is a strange game. I'm not talking about the story, I've seen weirder movies, but I do agree with E_Megas that it's "David Lynch the videogame". It wasn't the plot, the gameplay or the violence that got me (and I do love violence). It was the totally open interpertation. Suda-51 and Shinji Mikami were quoted as saying that these type of stories were their favorite, and I have to agree with them on this point. Killer7's story can not be explained. Yes, I've seen Shockley's FAQ on GameFAQs but honestly most of it's based on conjecture. Killer7's story is different for every person, and it's meant to be that way. You're meant to take what you will from it, and every person's experience will be different. Just as E_Megas enjoyed a certain section of the game more than I did, the Curtis Blackburn fight (which is, in my opinion the best boss fight I've played in years) hit something deep inside me. Every person will make what they will of it, and everyone will take something different from it's experience. This is why Killer7 is the best videogame released this year.

Killer7 is also a milestone in mature gaming. It's definately NOT a kid's game, and it's something that's pretty much universally agreed upon. It's gory, sleazy and filled with adult subject matter. But hey, we're all adults here, so I was fine with it. I'm glad to see something like this done seriously and with class.

Suprisingly, (of Capcom) the voice acting is TOP NOTCH. I really mean this too. Kun Lan in particular has one of the best voice talents I've ever heard and his conversation with Harman in Seattle during the Angel chapter is one of my favorite gaming moments of all time.

"There's always time for fun. It's Friday night..."

"Let's dance."

So, life.

I acquired a new job at ITC, and I'll be a Tier 1 Tech. Not only does this pay better, I'll have my own cubicle! I can further my self-imposed isolation! Hooray. It's interesting really. My life is actually turning out good for once right now. I'm on a lucky streak I suppose. Here's to it not running out. (takes a shot of Johnny Walker)

I need a literary agent. Fuck.
