Wet Weekend
I missed most of the mud this weekend, but the bits I caught were impressive. It was like the successive showers were slowly pounding the earth into goop.
I met two cool new people this weekend, one shares my interest in fire, the other in trebuchets. There are high hopes of more good conversations and fun...and perhaps joint activities! I also got some more honey to do the "plain 3 gallon" batch of mead. We will probably do that at some point in October or November.
Game Sunday seemed to be decent. We have had some real "high water mark" sessions lately so this was not quite as impressive. Still, it seemed to run well and everything was accomplished, if not quite as fast as anticipated. It was a Very Good Thing that we moved the start time up, and the pizza plan seems to be working.
Next weekend in Oktoberfest, and my mind is running on some Landsknecht tracts. My new shoes will arrive in time to try them out before Saturday, thank goodness. I need to remember to do a "garb check" by Tuesday, and get in touch with people about what our specific plans will be. It sounds like it will be an all male (no camp followers) event, which will be interesting. We may die. Well, not likely, but we will miss them I am sure. Do we plan to do anything besides man our tent? Likely not...but it might be best to check...yes...I am out of the loop. Time to fix that!
