Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Okay, so i'm mainly writing this to pass the time until I can read the book. (About 24 hours or so from now.) This is just my inane rambling of what I think will happen. It'll be interesting to see how close I am to the truth. NOTE: THESE ARE NOT SPOILERS. I HAVE NOT READ THE BOOK, NOR HAVE I READ ANY REVIEWS OR ANYTHING THAT WOULD SUGGEST A PRIOR KNOWLEDGE OF THE STORY. IF YOU ARE THAT PISSED OFF BY POSSIBLE PLOT ENDINGS, KISS MY ASS.

First of all, when I think of 'Deathly Hallows' my mind immediately went to a place. A location on a map somewhere, possibly where Harry and Voldemort will have a showdown. However, I started to think deeper...and and have come to the conclusion that my first prediction is too obvious. I'm starting to think that the 'Deathly Hallows' is not a location but rather a tangible item, or set of items. As to what they are for, I'm not sure, but my reasoning is that J.K Rowling famously uses trickery to deceive the reader until the very end. I believe the predominant thought among awaiting eyes is that 'Deathly Hallows' is a place, so it would make sense for it to be something different. If my second thought is correct, then what would these items be used for? The plot of the Half-Blood Prince (more specifically the ending) left us wondering about Horcruxes. These dark items that are used to slice up a soul and place in tangible objects in order to preserve some semblance of life. Ete rnally. We know what is Voldemort's greatest fear.

Death.

Voldemort fears death more then anything else because he sees death as something that Muggles do, not wizards. His mother died giving birth to him and was raised in an orphanage. He did not know that he mother was a witch before meeting Professor Dumbledore as a young boy. Once he learned he was a wizard, he automatically assumed that his father was the wizard and not his mother, because he knew that she had died. When he found out that is was his mother who was a witch, and not his father (who was a muggle), he vowed to find a way to conquer death because it was the ultimate weakness and disgrace. That is why his followers are aptly named 'Death-Eaters'. That is also why he asked Horace Slughorn about Horcruxes when he was still Tom Riddle at Hogwarts. However, the use of these Horcruxes is dark magic for a reason. The soul is not meant to be carved up. It is meant to remain whole, and in doing so, Voldemort may have eternal life as it is right now, but it is a cursed l ife. Horace Slughorn even told Tom Riddle himself that it would be better to have death then to split up one's soul. However, to Voldemort the ablity to cheat death is priceless.

Anyways, could the Deathly Hallows (assuming it/they are an object(s)) be related to the Horcruxes? Or even if it is a place, could it still have some relation to the Horcruxes. And if so, how? That is the first question I am mulling over in my head.

Secondly, who will die? Joanne Rowling has already said that at least two characters will die in this book and some have drawn from a "hint" from Joanne herself that Harry might be one. I find that to be bogus from so many standpoints, the least relevant of which is financial. Would J.K. Rowling kill the boy that has reinvigorated today's youth with reading? If she did, she may lose millions of dollars in future generations who were utterly appalled that he was killed.

The most relevant of which is the message. A boy who suffered so much in life dies saving the world. The boy never knows sustained happiness, the death of his parents, the death of Cedric Diggory, Sirius Black, Dumbledore. Is this going to be the story of a tragic hero or one who lives to find some solace in life. One whose importance is not limited to his teen years. One who stops evil, but also lives on to make the world a better place. It is for that reason, along with others, that I believe Harry will NOT die. That is not to say he will not have to endure sacrifices, but death will not one of them.

As for who will, I am going to split it up into two sections. Death-Eaters and Order of the Phoenix.

For the Death Eaters, the first one is obvious. Voldemort must die. I do not believe there is a fan of the series who believes that Voldemort will destroy Harry Potter. Since one has to destroy the other, good bye Tom Riddle.

Second for the Death Eaters, Bellatrix Lestrange. This woman is pure psychotic, nihilistic evil, having killed Sirius Black and drove Frank and Alice Longbottom into insanity via the cruciatus curse, she will be the victim of a righteous avenging. She will die at the hands of Neville Longbottom somehow. A big gray area of the Harry Potter universe is whether or not righteous characters can use the killing curse. Harry was not able to properly use the cruciatus curse because it requires malice for the sake of malice. Lestrange had just killed Sirius Black when Harry tried executing the cruciatus curse. It was not very effective because his rage was justified. A sadist would have no problem using the curse, but would someone who had a righteous reason to use it, like Neville, be capable of the act? Regardless of that, revenge is a dish best served cold. An interesting possibility is that Neville could die as well and because he was almost 'The Boy Who Lived', if he is killed tha t could mess with the prophecy.

For the Order of the Phoenix, I have to believe that Hagrid will die. The gentle giant who introduced Harry to magic will die at the hands of Voldemort. I'm not sure how, but it just seems right, you know?
I also think Cornelius Fudge will die, redeeming himself somehow. Maybe at the hands of Lucius, Narcissa, and Draco Malfoy? Percy Weasley too. He's a bitch.

I think there will be a redeeming moment for Draco. When he was unable to kill Dumbledore at the end of Half-Blood Prince, something stirred within him. Maybe something to do with his Mother. Maybe Voldemort will become angry with Narcissa and Malfoy will do something to redeem himself. He probably still won't like Hermione though.

As for the most enigmatic character of the Harry Potter series, Severus Snape, I believe that he is not a true Death-Eater, but nor was he on the side of the Order of the Phoenix entirely. His loyalty is to himself, a Protoman, if you will. (Lame Mega Man reference.) He will aid Harry Potter in some way, and already has, unbeknownst to the young wizard.
