Shellac
bicoastal, Pelican-girl and I saw Shellac last night at the Great American Music Hall. skelflesh and docetist were also in attendance. Fantastic show. They were downright playful, something impressive for a post-punk band. On one hand, the opening act seemed to have some issues, such as an inability to sing and play music at the same time; on the other, you really have to respect someone who plays a venue like that with just a $150 Fender amp and a guitar.
After the show, Phate and I swung by the new place. It's much bigger than I remember it, which is good. The floors are in fantastic shape, but chances are we want to repaint the falls: there are a couple of scuff marks, etc. It's looking like that'll be our Saturday plan.
