Wacky Races

Yesterday I had my fifth driving lesson, and for the first time I started to be able to really "feel" the car. It was a beautiful sunny Autumn day in Auckland so it was a real pleasure to be driving around the streets of the city. I had one or two wacky moments - but it's a dual control car so the instructor can take over when I lose the plot. This is great, as it encourages me to take more risks than I would otherwise. (It's becoming clear to me that I don't get to express my Fire sign impulsiveness nearly enough in my day-to-day life.)

The highlight of the lesson was a brief run on one of the city's motorways - I got up to 100kph (about 62mph - the speed limit here in NZ), which was a real thrill.

Trouble was I had to go back to work afterward and I was so high on adrenaline I had to calm myself down for 30 minutes before I could properly focus on my job!
