I GOT TO TALK TO A!!!!!!!!!!!
It's been about a month since I last spoke to her, she left the US a month ago actually. I tried e-mailing her but she was busy. In fact, I'm getting her package around so I can mail it to her. But I got Skype specifically to talk to the exchange students, I need to find out if E has one. Anyway, I've been getting on Skype for about a month just to talk to her.
I really miss her. She's fun to talk to and we can talk about ANYTHING. Normally, I hang out with guys so the conversation has a twist and sometimes they seem surprised by how I act (because I am a girl and they are boys and don't understand anything). So it's refreshing every now and then to get that shot of estrogen from just chilling with girls. And sometimes I just need to talk to A, she has good advice and is easy to talk to.
But anyway, I wasn't really thinking I'd get to talk to her today. I mean, I've been trying for a month. Others had talked to her and I missed her greatly. I think I say on a daily basis that I miss her. However, I logged onto Skype and started fooling around on the internet. Checked mail, myspace, facebook, etc. Looked at music/movies/entertainment stuff. And then the little Skype announced that someone was on. I was expecting T or B to be on because they always are.
Imagine my surprise when it said A was on!!!!
Whenever it comes to talking, I usually have a map of what I'm going to say if possible. When it comes to mail/phone, I'm really cautious and slow to dial/send.
Not this time. I hit that 'call' button faster than I could think. I wasn't letting this chance slip by, not when I longed to talk to her.
One ring. Two. Three.
A: Apolla?
Me: A?
*sounds of celebration*
We were so happy to get to talk to each other we didn't say anything for a few minutes, we just kind of did this celebration screech or something.
Then we talked about nothing and everything. She showed me the outdoors, since it was night there and I've wanted to see Russia for a while. I showed her that it was still day time here. We laughed over the time distance and found out how far it was from my home to hers. We chatted for over an hour, sent pictures to each other and although she had to go call her friend back (funny story, I'll tell you that in a minute) neither of us wanted to say goodbye, but eventually we had to. I miss her already.
So, she got a call while we were talking and she didn't hang up the Skype, just said to hang on a minute. "Allo? Da, privyet."
While she was talking I sent the message: Keep speaking in Russian, it's awesome. She laughed, told her friend she was Skyping with me and told me that he said I was "cute" although he'd never seen a picture of me. I said 'hello' in Russian and she sent that along. A relayed back to me that he said, 'Hello my darling' "in a thick Russian accent" (her words, not mine). I laughed.
My family came in and out during the conversation but nobody tried to kick us off or anything because they knew how much I wanted to talk to her.
Alek: It was funny
Dean: It was, man, it was odd to hear Apolla sound like that
Luke: So excited and happy...
Me: Shut up, she's my friend
Dante: Chicka, she's like, your best friend. And we mean that.
Alek: Yeah, she's nice to you, she listens and cares what you have to say, you guys have fun - a lot better than what's his nuts who-
Me: *sigh* Leave him alone, he's a boy
Luke: What's that mean?
Me: It means that sometimes we don't understand what our actions do to the other
Dante: I'm going to pretend that you aren't actually defending him
Me: No, you misinterpret what I mean sometimes and girls take things guys say out of context and all that. It was
Alek: Simple misunderstanding my ass
Dean: I'm telling you, next time you see him you have to tell him that he upset you.
Alek: Or we will
Me: Is that a threat?
Alek: Nullus, est veritas
Dante: STOP THE FRICKIN' LATIN!!! NO ONE UNDERSTANDS IT BUT YOU TWO!
Dean: I know some Latin
Luke: I know some too
Dante: Fine, I don't get it.
Me: It's ok, I love you.
