I also love Gabrielle! It's great to see such an in depth exploration of her portrayal and history. Isn't it disappointing we haven't seen her in a while, even as Legion has been reintroduced and has had an arc all about him not so long ago? *grumbles*

You make a lot of great point about how well rounded and strong a character she is ♥

I agree it's disappointing (even if chronology-wise, I can see they have a bit of a problem. With Magneto, they can claim that his mutation makes him age slower than normal, but Gabrielle Haller is by rights in her 80s now. Then again, time works oddly in comics.) I once saw a list of the best lawyers in comics, and she was among them, with the comment that "even if she's never had her own comic, she is really cool" and so forth. But that's made me fixate on that idea, so now all I want is just a few well-written, well-drawn issues of Gaby prosecuting war criminals and doing diplomacy and being awesome.

Glad you enjoyed my meta!

Magneto has the was-once-aged down-then-aged up to his excuse, mainly.

But yeah, it is an issue, but it is one with Legion too to some extent. They should just use some comic book nonsense to solve it like they did with Wanda & Pietro :p

Hahaha, yeah I'd love to see an issue where she was up as a lawyer!! Perhaps something with She-Hulk or Daredevil to play it up :) And the diplomacy side as a lot of potential too.

isn't legion like franklin, though? he's enough of a powerhouse that he probably can look however old he wishes if he can just find the right power in the box of cats that is his mind.

Consider that he's strong enough to travel in time, I'd expect so (although I haven't seen anything of it in the comics).

rogue recently borrowed some of his trillion powers to find a friend and teleport to her location in legacy #243. he's crazy-powerful. (eta: #253, i posted scans myself, oi - http://scans-daily.dreamwidth.org/3214529.html )

if we use Legion as the excuse for Legion's age, then we probabaly could use Legion as the excuse for Gaby's age.

Yes, that's part of it, of course, but he's still younger than he should be. I think it was in Children's Crusade #2, Speed says that it seems like Magneto doesn't age, and then says to Quicksilver, "which is good for you, genetics-wise."

Perhaps something with She-Hulk or Daredevil to play it up

This must happen. It'd be absolutely awesome. I wonder if we could bribe Marvel, or at least bribe some fan artist.

He should be in his early forties, at most. Which he usually about looks like - albeit in an incredibly ripped way but, hey, comics! - or even older depending on the artist.

Let's do a kickstarter! XD

Has he been deaged since Mutant Alpha? If not, surely he should be in his sixties or something... All depends on how you imagine time passing in comics. But yes, he's usually drawn as being around fifty, I'd say, but it depends on the artist.

We have to take all of this with a pinch of salt, of course. Like, Magneto is incredibly ripped and in excellent health, and he spent most of his adolescence malnourished. Doesn't quite add up. But, hey, comics logic!

and re-aged in UXM #111.

Officially there's less than 15 years that has passed in the Marvel Universe since the F4's trip exposed them to cosmic radiations. With the old formula of 3 years real world = 1 year 616!world. Closer to 4 years by the 00's.

Yup. Comics everybody! *shrugs*

I have heard about the 3 years : 1 616!year ratio. And then on top of that everything looks like it's set when it's written. They have mobile phones and the internet and things.
Hm, better not think about it. I feel myself going crosseyed by trying to reconcile it somehow.
