She's Only Happy In The Sun
I thought about somebody today. A certain somebody who used to ignite a little flame within. Though she was miles away, hearing her voice on the phone or getting an e-mail was always a nice thing. It's been a while, a long while since I heard from her. About three months ago, I get a message on Myspace letting me know that she will be in town and if we wanted to meet-up. Normally, I would have been lightweight excited but I've kinda lost it. Since I don't check Myspace on the regular anymore, I looked at the message and it was dated about 2 months ago. Apparently, she was in town and wanted to link up. I shrug my shoulders. Not to be fucked or anything but I'm over it. Sayang too kasi she was real cool. Another "bout it" Pinay on the move. On the independent tip. Taking fashion merchandising I believe, with an emphasis on textiles. Also an up-and-coming d.j. spinning soul, breaks, and goodness. I used to tell her about Bindlestiff and my involvement with it. She was always fascinated to hear stories of productions and shows that I was involved with. Always so supportive even though she's never seen a show. Whenever I'd hear Ben Harper's, "She's Only Happy In The Sun", it would remind me of her. Even though she loved rainy weather. During the rainy season, she would always ask me if I thought of her. It was a nice little moment in time.
