Indignant story about something insignificant:
Why do I let ignorant people on the internet bother me so much? I joined this Harry Potter site last night and emailed this one guy to let him know that he spelled Apparition wrong. Yeah, I know, I should have ignored it, but since they had "grammar check you posts so you don't disrespect the other readers" as one of the rules on the site, I figured they were grammar-nazis like I am and would appreciate the catch. Wow was I wrong. This guy told me that Apparition was only about ghosts and Apparation was correct. So I wrote back with a link to the Harry Potter Lexicon online. He sent me back wikipedia article spelling it the way he did and said that the HPL was wrong. As if any good college student doesn't know that wikipedia articles can be written by anyone with an internet connection (sorry RJ ;D). So I checked my HP book and I am right. I'm not writing him again to tell him this since he is a doofus and one of the administrators on the site (I don't want to be banned), but I had to tell someone and my Mom would have laughed at me.
