WTF was that??
Recently a rather curious phenomena has been occurring. Usually twice a day, and during the pm hours, something or someone has hit on the outside of my front door. This noise is rather loud since each time my dog hears it and barks his head off. When this happens I have never seen anyone through the peep hole. After about 2 days of this happening I went against Chris' admonishments about not opening the door if you don't see someone you recognize and I opened it anyway. No one there. One time I jumped up as soon as I heard it to make sure it's not some kids pullin' pranks but there were no scampering feet, no gigglin' voices, no nothin'.
One day when Chris was home he finally got to hear it for himself. We did all sorts of experiments to see what could possibly be hitting up against the door. It is always one hard knock from the outside. THought it might be the wind blowin' the door around in the jam. Nothing sounds nearly the same. Since then he's heard it several times on his own and it continues to freak us out.
I've never experienced any ghostly activity but I think there's some sort of energy wandering around knockin' on people's doors because my neighbor said he's heard the same thing.
