work was interesting tonight... i went out for a smoke with a couple of guys from respiratory (they ALL smoke a LOT!) and noticed 8 police cars and several unmarked "i'm not a cop" cars outside the ER. the cops noticed us and came over to bum a smoke to get a witness to talk. somebody stabbed the PT several times in the neck and chest...

i need to find out exactly what it takes to get fired from my job. one of my coworkers pushed the limits to a point that should have resulted in at the very least termination! while doing an EKG on a very obese, unconscious PT, this guy took a photo of her exposed chest with his cell phone. i was appalled someone i consider a friend would do something so vile, but even more so that he was not fired or at least suspended!
according to a person who works on his shift, he did it as some kind of sick joke. i can understand why management wouldn't want this to get to the PT (she'd probably sue the hospital for every penny she could! and rightly so!) but i don't want to work with someone like this! nor do i want to work for a company that is condoning this kind of behavior!!
aside from violating this woman, he also admitted that he'd had a cell phone on in an area where they are not permitted. cell phones operate on a similar frequency used by wireless heart monitors. older cell phones & bluetooth devices can cause interference that give false signals or noise. i am going to lodge a formal complaint with risk management, this seems completely unreasonable and offensive! if this is the kind of behavior he freely admits to, what is he doing silently! we are put in a position to help people when they are very vulnerable, this is inexcusable!
and if that isn't fucked up enough, a few months ago, his wife needed to have a minor surgery. he insisted that she go to another hospital because he didn't like the idea of his coworkers seeing his wife in a compromising position!
i'm fucking livid!
BTW: this is on a filter, mostly people i know IRL or who i've had on my FList for long enough to have a bit of trust in... i really don't want to read about this in the paper tomorrow, if ya know what i mean...
