Well... *sheepish grin* If he'd died in the alley, then I would've had to shoehorn him into this fic somehow or come up with semi-logical reason as to why he wasn't there. So, the motivation was purely for the sake of the plot and me not having a fourteenth character to juggle. But I'm glad it made you happy. :)
