Request: Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart can handle anything-even the Apocalypse. Inclusion of the Doctor (any era except Six; Three would be AWESOME) is not necessary, although I'd prefer no Ten/Rose if you decide to include Ten.
Notes: This is the second pinch-hit I wrote for
apocalyptothon. Initially I was writing a story based around the events in Terror of the Autons, but as the deadline approached I realized it wasn’t working. Last night I had a minor panic attack, scrapped what I had as a lost cause, comforted myself with chocolate and a viewing of Battlefield, and wrote this story, uhm, today. Oops? I am an American who has watched a lot of Doctor Who. Due to the deadline, I was not able to find a Britpicker in time, so I hope you’ll forgive any odd Americanisms that crop up (feel free to point them out). Thank you for your indulgence!
Summary: The Brigadier learns the burden that comes from knowing the future, yet not acting upon it.
