It's one of the constellations of the zodiac, surrounded by the Pisces and Taurus constellations. It was already described in the second century, but remains among modern day constellations as well.

Its Latin name means 'ram', and some people visualize the shape of a ram in the stars.

A year has twelve months, so they divided all of those up to match with the constellations. And then it just depends in what month and on what day you were born, yes.
