Before I call it a knight night:
The Dark Knight was batshit insane. I cannot be more articulate because too much stuff happened and when it was over I went home and put on Batman Begins and I really need a third movie right now. I don't think I have anything else to say. lol
The New Yorker disses TDK but nobody cares because it set
eight box office records and IMDB declared it
the best movie in the history of ever. Fascinating argument that
the Joker is a trickster god. UK GQ's profile of Christian Bale. "Strangely enough, I was wandering around Rome recently, I think I was having insomnia issues or jet lag while filming, so I kept going for these late-night walks. I kept seeing this same guy wandering around some evenings, looking a little lost like me. I waved and said hello to him one night - it was fucking Viggo Mortensen."
Re: Heath Ledger's death.
Why so serious? "This is a celebration of what he did best - entertain people. Why would any actor not want that to be appreciated? I know he would have. The bottom line is it would be totally rude not to. Respect the man. This is what he did. This is what he wanted to do."
Some non-TDK stuff:
Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog was surprisingly sweet for
something random that Joss Whedon came up with during the writers' strike. I thought Act II was the strongest, and my favourite songs are "Laundry Day" and "I Cannot Believe My Eyes." This whole thing has introduced legions of Joss fans to Neil Patrick Harris (seen on TWoP: "I now need to go and find everything Neil Patrick Harris ever did and worship him as he so richly deserves.") and brought in lots of new ppl who've never been "Jossed," aka had their hearts shattered into a million pieces.
Who's watching the Watchmen...
trailer, that is. So epic it requires a
beginner's guide. Star Trek posters will be available at Comic-Con.
