I was scared of dying in computer games, namely the Vorticons from the original Commander Keen and the desert in King's Quest 5

the one part in the introduction of "the adventures of maddog williams" where the princess is combing her hair and THE SILLOUETTE OF THE EVIL KING SERAK SNEAKS UP BEHIND HER and he has horns and it scared me

the music that accompanied that scared the everliving fuck out of me, too

the ending of the film "time bandits" scared me out of sleeping for the next couple of weeks, too. i was always petrified of the idea of waking up to a burning house when i was seven years old. "family movie" my ass, that thing scared the shit out of me too
