Makeup Bag Wonders

May 13, 2011 15:09

On one of the blogs I read, the woman who runs it has guest bloggers share what is in their makeup bag. I liked the idea, and I have decided to share the contents of my makeup bag!

This is some of my beauty favorites...the box from Kuwait, I got from my uncle, and I keep my earrings in it. I use Velocity from Mary Kay facial cleanser and moisturizer. It's meant for teenaged skin, but I'm only 20, and I don't really need wrinkle cream yet. I also use a scrub by Clinique, that I actually got from a friend's mom. I love how soft it makes my skin feel after I use it, and when my face feels especially grimy it makes me feel refreshed. I also use Clinique makeup remover. It's amazing, removes makeup with absolutely no problem. I also have my very small bottle of one of my favorite perfumes ever, Clinique Happy. I should be a Clinique spokeswoman, or something.

Moving on to the actual bag!

The bag I got from Target. I was looking at the typical makeup bags and they were really expensive, and really large. I don't use that much makeup, and I don't usually wear it every day, so I wasn't interested in getting something super expensive or huge. I asked my mom, and she suggested checking out the travel section, where they have the small bottles of everything for travel. Lo and behold, there were some cute, cheap, small bags! So I picked one out, and it became my makeup bag.

Eyeliner: Most of my eyeliner is NYC brand, and it is stick. I used liquid before, but I prefer stick. I have various colors, like black (of course), purple, gray, and my absolute favorite, glitter. It took me a while to find my glitter eyeliner, but I love it. It doesn't seem like something that's useful, but I've managed to wear it out a few times, and to see Ke$ha, of course.

Mascara: I have some Great Lash by Maybelline New York, which is good, classic, and I like it. I also have some mascara from Clinique, their lash doubling mascara, and I really like that, as well. It doesn't clump as easily as the Maybelline does, which is a major plus for me.

Eye shadow: My friend's mom also gave me some purple eyeshadow from Clinique, and I also have some Maybelline New York eye shadow. I like those "kits" because they give you three colors and tell you where exactly to apply them for the best look. You obviously don't have to apply the colors where they suggest, but it's awesome for people who don't usually wear makeup and need some advice. I also have some from Mary Kay, as well.

Lip stick/gloss: I don't usually use lip stick or gloss, not pictured are the five tubes of Burt's Bees lip balm I have hidden in desk drawers, my book bag, and purse. I usually just wear lip balm, but when it comes to lip stick/gloss, I  prefer something that gives me just a little bit of color, and some shine. Nothing too bold.

Finally, I also keep some free perfume samples I have in my bag. I want to wear something different from what I already have? The samples come in handy!
