Super early update (it's currently 1:25 am EST), but seeing as this week is Hell Week (midterms) I have no idea when I'll next be able to update...so without further ado,
Things I Love Monday
>Twitter. Specifically, my Twitter. Biz Stone came to BSU a few weeks ago, and I was inspired to become a better tweeter, or whatever they're called. So, my Twitter has evolved from a private, random message Twitter (for a while my status was "is eating mac and cheese"), to a collection of quotes and moments from my friends and I. Twitter updates from your phone are the best idea ever. Props to you, Biz Stone. You can follow me at
@danischmitt. Current favorite tweet:
Ross is seriously one of the funniest drunk people ever. That is also what happens when one goes to IHOP at 3 am.
>Jesus Memes. Jesus is a very serious topic, as anyone who has ever gone to any church of any Christian denomination knows. However, Jesus is also, presumably, a fun guy, so some people out there decided that it would be hilarious to portray Jesus as kind of a jerk. The result?
Jesus Is A Jerk. It's a series of pictures where Jesus is watching people go about their daily business, and he says douchey things. It's hilarious.
>Bradford Pumpkin Show. It's the middle of October, the weather may or may not be getting colder, and pumpkins are becoming ripe. This means that it is time for festivals! Once a year, the little town of Bradford, Ohio becomes a destination location as thousands of people surge into Bradford to throw confetti at each other and, of course, see some pumpkins and eat some pie. This year, I went with The Boys, and I had a blast. It was amazing and I can't wait until next October!!!
I'm a failure at blinking in pictures.
>Fruit Flies. I've begun to own up to the fact that I'm a little bit of a
Fag Hag. Today, I was reading a magazine one of The Boys brought to school, and in it was an article about how to find your best Gay Best Friend. The author decided that the term Fag Hag was mean and derogatory (hag is mean, fag is derogatory), and decided instead to call herself and all others like her, Fruit Flies. I'm not really sure how much less derogatory or mean that term is, since I would be a fly, and my friends are in the state of being fruity; but it seems much nicer and...less mean and I don't think of an old creepy lady when I hear the term.
So I hope you all enjoyed this weeks TI<3M!!!! I have some Bible verses to read for Intro to Biblical Interpretation.
